Currently there is not an option for deleting or mass deleting items on the frontend.
On the other hand a user can unpublish his items if he has the correct permissions.

Jordan, I don't think your approach is quite correct. Maybe I am to blame a bit for this. The 301 redirects are not done with your .htaccess files.

With a similar extension or sh404 you can have a normal domain/tag/tag-name url for all your tags and a unique url for your items. My personal opinion is that developing a plugin on your own for this functionality will cost you a lot more in time and effort.

I will however take a look at some of them and what they do before I make a final call on it.

The best approach is this actually, experiment on a dev site and I m sure you 'll figure out the best approach.

There is a setting for this, but by default it's disabled by default for better performance.

On the advanced tabs of K2 params you need to set Disable ordering compacting to yes.
Please note that if you have a large amount of articles (several hundred or thousands) this might affect your performance.

PS. You should backup and upgrade to 2.5.11 asap for security reasons.

Hello Peter,

Disqus uses iframes for its comments, so they are not accesible to the search engines.

If the disqus plugin is properly built and I think that is the case it renders your comments as K2 comments in a hidden block bellow your disqus comments. This way they are completely accessible and SEO friendly.

I'm sorry, I had to be more precise.

You will have to create a K2 template override. The point of this is that you won't be hacking any core K2 files which upon update you will be lost. Copy the files in folder

components/com_k2/templates/
to
templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_k2/.

Then open the file item.php that is located in your template folder and not the component's folder.

Locate the if statement I described earlier (that is the correct one you have posted), comment out all elements inside that if statement (or erase them) and paste your facebook code there.

Hi Tadas Narbutas, can you provide a link to your site. About the Registration Problem are you using the K2 User module ? and set up the configuration properly. I know from personal experience that, if you happen to use Community Builder for Registration it doesn't automatically add then to the K2 User List.

In regards to your Category View issue, When you change Image size it only applies the changes to any new image you upload, not existing ones. And if you create a Category Menu item and display child categories they will inherit their various Category view settings.

Hi Rakel,
It may seem a bit difficult at first but it's not really.

1/ Open your sites Default Template folder (you should see a folder named html (if none exists create one).

2/ Inside the html folder create a new folder (name it com_k2)

3/ Then navigate to components/com_k2/templates then (copy all the files & the default folder)

4/ Navigate back to the your templates html folder & open the com_k2 folder that you created in step 2 and Paste the files & default folder.

5/ Rename Default folder to anything you like eg my_override_template (you can copy the default folder multiple times if you want multiple overrides)

6/ Then in K2 open the Category you want to override, In the Right Side Menu - Category Item Layout - select a template (you should see your new overide in dropdown list)

7/ If you want to overide the K2s CSS files, you need a plugin called CSS4K2 it's free and you can find it HERE

item.php & category_item.php are the 2 files that are most often customized, and you can always delete the overrides & start again, so its fine to experiment.

distribution .htaccess is the default file that comes with the Joomla! .zip. but I think you already using this so you should try enabling/disabling extension and/or removing the .html suffix alltogether.

Barbara I would publish a login/ K2 user module on a test page using the robots = nofollow like Peter said.

Then I would use that page to login to the forntend (if you already have a k2 user module disregard the above).

As mentioned elsewhere when opening the exported csv in Excel it does not handle well non-english based languages. i found out a solution by opening first an empty excel file and then importing the csv instead of opening it directly.

i wanted to concatenate the item details as each one had different entries / info. for example in one item you might have values for the following fields:

Title Alias Introtext Fulltext Tags Published Created User ID Category Name Category Description

and for another

Title Alias Introtext Fulltext Tags Published Created User ID Category Name Category Description Length Width Height Cockpit Weight Load

with the last entries applying to extra fields.

q1: the end of each item is denoted by 2 commas ?
q2: in the guidelines you say that : text-fields must be enclosed within double-quote characters => ", what do you mean? in the export file i see every field enclosed like this "field"
q3: when i export the image path is not captured. why? how can i fix this so that to avoid manual update of images for each item?
q4: can i upload price as an extra field and then associate it to kmart price field?

The export is a text file, so if you have formated the fonts by HTML they will not look the same in the text file. And after import all the HTML code is imported but the formating also depends on the CSS and other formats on your page
